Fruit Fashion even avocados

This past Labor Day 2018 Weekend everyone was rocking the vintage fashion of fruit. Saturday night at dinner, set at Osaka – a Hibachi Grill and Sushi Bar, a young man in our party was partaking in the merriment wearing a button down collared shirt plastered in avocados.

The woman in a pew in front of me in Mass wore a shirt loaded with lemons.

To take on Key West of the North, South Bass Island, for late night Labor Day dinner, dress was festive and a garment covered in ripe bananas proclaimed to the world, “I’m off today.”

Laboring on an island and laboring in a factory is like comparing avocados to bananas. Nonetheless, everyone’s contribution makes the country great from educators to car salesmen to those cleaning the island vacation rentals.  Celebrate and keep chasing, or living the dream.

Champagne, Cake & Sperrys summer gifts

Of course I gave the BAE Neoprene Sperrys for his birthday. How else is he going to navigate two sets of island chains but with shoes built for the boat — designed to get wet.

That was a sweet two days of cake, candles champagne and celebrating.

The Lake Erie Islands, showcasing South Bass, Middle Bass and the famed boardwalk of put-in-Bay are the only place to be when the calender reads “summer.”

Get a Grip Sperry Shoe Summer 2018 Edition

Photos by Bo, Miller Boatline

The brand Sperry embodies a summer spent on, near and around the water. Even more importantly, Sperry is all about being and looking fuss-free while all the while fashionable onboard the boat.

The construction even makes muah — yes me ladies and gentlemen, look practical.

When the store manager at Dillards gave me access, well to the entire store and a fifty dollar spending limit, my soul sniffed out a Lake Erie lifestyle essential I knew I’d be living in all summer long, a pair of Sperry Haven Chambray Lace Ups.

Deliciously designed with string rawhide laces and a non-marking rubber outsole with (trademark) Razor-cut Wave-Siping to disperse water for the ultimate wet/dry traction, I did not have to search far for why Sperry shoes make the statement “I can navigate an island chain and I’m going to accomplish this via boat.”

Resort owner and developer of the most Lake Erie Island vacation rentals Ed Gudenas put his best foot — and shoe —  forward and was wearing a pair along with his logo gear while hosting the ladies from Lake Erie Shores and Islands.

The ladies themselves, took in the Caribbean-style 21-acre resort and lakefront property outfit comfortably in this decadent deck shoe.

The day we boarded the Miller Boatline with Lake Erie’s Lab Pup, stowaway Don Massey had his peds crammed into a pair of Columbia’s…cuz he was only mixing up his footwear. The day before he had on his favorite pair of blue Sperrys and had this to say.

“They fit so nice and they’re comfortable and they got enough arch where my feet don’t get tired after ten hours on this boat with these guys,” Massey made it clear the shoe appeals to all age groups, the guys and the gals,  and with that — went in for some affection from our four-legged travel companion.

You’ve seen the pup showin’ off Sperrys before in 2016.

In 2017 we unleashed the low-down on the ferry ridin’ footwear at the edge of Ohio’s Mainland where all vacationers board the Miller Boatline.

#rockmyboat fashion now comes in the oh-so trendy shade of Rose.

Formulated for a Goddess coconut milk with a twist of lime

Besides all of the makeup and skincare I can’t live without, my 2018 Estee Lauder Beauty Week promo Easter Basket is sans the chocolate and stocked with sunshine. I popped the entire line of Bronze Goddess into the crate of cosmetics I crave day in and day out.

The comments roll in non-stop.

“You smell like coconuts.”

“You smell like the beach.”

“You smell like suntan lotion.”

“You smell like an island.”

“Yum. What smells so delicious?”

I have Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess whipped Body Cream wiped across my wrists and up my arms, around my neck and up into my hairline.

The aroma of coconut milk juicy mandarin, lemon, Italian Bergamot and a sun-drenched blend of tropical flowers emanates from my abdomen.

I had to think after the photos were taken of me in a department store what exactly am I selling?

I can sell you the smell of coconuts. Brands, labels, scents and logos are all about the essence one embodies.

My essence engulfs a life where my business contacts suited me up, backed me up and bankrolled me to take on the Florida Keys Wreck Trek. Being bronzed by the blazing tropical sun isn’t optional. We all love cocktail conversation of an underwater adventure.

A life where I learned to hunt dinner in the clear blue sea.

Of late night parties with friends barefoot on the beach.

I could blog all day about sun, salt and business and a lifestyle where the most important accessory is a sun-kissed glow.

Of course, I smell like coconut and lime. I know how to muddle a Mojito, blend a homemade Pina Colada and prep a spiny tail for dinner. I’ve run an island resort from my high school bedroom with an envelope of blank checks.

Bronze Goddess is for the ultimate sun-kissed glow.

After a winter on the North Coast, what we’re all craving…correct? For those south of the Mason Dixon County line what we all align with — shots of endless sunshine!

From the makers: A cult classic, this adored collection features summer-perfect essentials—such as Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée and the new Bronze Goddess Blooming Lip Balm.

Beauty Week Easter Basket Centerpiece golden serum everyone's seeking

I was stumped for this promo. Initially the centerpiece was slated to be the ReNutriv Ultimate lift Regenerating Youth Serum, the key to infinite beauty. Laced with a patented Floralixir Dew this lux beauty product has more fluff and fancy than the Easter Bunny himself donning a bow tie and glasses. Priced at three hundred and five dollars of course, this is what every person priding themselves on perfect skin wants. A product so posh, one of the rare ingredients is crushed twenty-four karat gold.

The ReNutriv Serum remains the golden centerpiece of my 2018 Estee Lauder Easter Basket. We all desire a perfect complexion. But, I also noticed I stocked my dream basket with the essence of the season and a life we are all seeking.

Josie is paid by Estee Lauder and other entities to write. The ideas and desires are her own and the content isn’t edited. FASHION NOTE: Knee-high leather boots were purchased with money from the CBS News wardrobe coffers.

Beauty Week 2018 kicks off Friday March 23 at 10 a. We will all be at Dillards Franklin Park Mall one of two luxury home goods stores on Ohio’s North Coast. The other location: Beachwood. Appointments only will be given a free Travel Size Perfectly Clean Cleanser until the stores run out. All Estee Lauder products are BOGO fifty percent off through March 29 2018.

Fight with The Flu food and rest over Rx

Long time no chat. Zero blog. Barely any videos. Pretty much a lack of anything resembling Paradise coming from my little world. I returned from my birthday weekend in Paris sick — with the flu. What I didn’t show was me lying back in the booth at the north coast birthday bash at about sixty-five percent heath wondering when exactly I’d be back in my pajamas — in my bed.

I couldn’t get on tv, didn’t remember how to write and the thought of dipping down on a yoga mat into a Chaturanga seemed a distant, faded memory of my youth that once embodied health.

For weeks on end I had zero ability to comprehend having any strength.

After feeding on ten cans of Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup (which makes me gag) and picking out the components considered “chicken” I opted to feast my way out  of the flu, not medicate. Down went pizzas, sorbet, and ice cream. I chugged over one dozen Gatorades in flavors only from the nineties, and drank three, two liters of fizz and sugar labeled 7Up. Then, I decided pouring the bubbly lemon lime pop atop of more chocolate chip ice cream would taste heavenly in addition to giving me the energy of a humming bird. I added a couple of layered chocolate cakes into my diet, and went about as much business as possible: Proud I refused the flu shot, antibiotics and every element of western medicine; and, …ta-da my Flu Feast took me directly up to Ash Wednesday and almost through Estee Lauder’s Spring #FlyMetoSantorini

We all know what the season means. Time to focus. Let the next battle begin where we can all gain more strength than ever before. Pics by Kim Kindinger

There aren’t many more adventures on the Great Lakes Circle Tour and Coastal Ohio Trail more exciting and pleasing to the palate (that one can reach by car) than to the historic Mon Ami Winery. I talk all about the menu items, wine pairings, location and more with Connie Reynolds, licensed realtor and Sales Manager for this establishment making every Ohioan proud.
Because Catawba Island is the gateway to the Great Lakes most prized real estate, we keep going on our shoot. Watch the interview now.

Then, keep your eyes peeled. We put another realtor on camera, Nancy Dunlap representing Bolte Real Estate to give the nation the climate of the market; plus, fashion insight for when everything is iced over. #ColderThanMars.

These segments are all part of the Great Lakes Winter Escape Josie in Paradise special.
We’re glad you’re watching.

From the east coast to the Great Lakes, the nation is under a deep freeze. Along Ohio’s coastline residents are experiencing a new record-setting frigid temperatures that have not risen above twelve degrees in weeks. True to form, I’m out playing and working in this, piecing together the Great Lakes, Winter Escape Josie in Paradise 2018 segments of real estate, hotels, hotel amenities. fashion, fitness, spas and a spoonful; plus business.

The line-up and conditions equate to lots of fur, boots, socks (three layers), hats, gloves and the creme de la creme of skin care protection.

What I’m washing my make-up off  with while standing and talking every forty minutes before I rinse, and head for some hot, sweaty yoga: Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Micro Cleansing Balm. This item, which retails for only forty-five dollars, cleanses at the cellular level removing environmental debris while softening the skin.  The balm is scented with lavender and chamomile and is oh so relaxing.

January 12 – 15 Estee Lauder is treating the nation to a Power Nap Facial at every counter. The scented luxury spa service includes having your face washed with the balm, followed by a spa eye treatment, and the application of your choice of serum and moisturizer. You can request the ReNutriv line I’m using laced with twenty-four carat gold, crushed pearls from the South Sea and RVF-10.

Here is why you want to take this global beauty brand up on this complimentary offer is simple.

Skincare, like exercise should be kept interesting and fun! Have a wondrous day and end to the weekend everyone. Stay warm and take advantage of the #ColderThanMars temperatures by indulging yourself in fitness for the face. The Estee Lauder Power Nap Facial is the ideal springboard for sensational winter skin.

Foundation Foreward natural light captures product

As we sat and waited at Catawba Island’s most coveted gathering spot, the Mon Ami Winery for the next interviewee subject, the producer took my iPhone and snapped a couple of portraits as the late winter sun seeped through the main dining hall window. The shoot, set on the last day of 2017, captured the VERY FIRST TIME, I had ever been on camera wearing a liquid foundation.

The choice, Estee Lauder’s Doublewear. I went with Wheat.

We shot all afternoon in the Great Lakes winter climate inside and out.

Which makes sunscreen a must. For a base I did layer atop the Estee Lauder Cos. MAC Prep + Prime BB (Beauty Balm) Prep SPF 35. I use this in the Florida Keys when out in that sunshine, too rocking the Health is Wealth Harry Cicma motto.

That product was placed atop the world’s No. 1 selling serum, Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair loaded with Hyaluronic Acid capable of boosting moisture one-thousand times. I use the ReNutriv Ultimate Lift Regenerating Youth Eye Cream.

I can’t preach this enough: Prepare the skin (so the product can work) and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Here is a close-up in natural light so you can see the skin’s surface and every and any pore.

Happy New Year everyone! You can go to any Estee Lauder counter in the world for a free sample of Doublewear Foundation. The price for a bottle is just forty-two dollars. Whatever you decide to do… put your best face forward for 2018. Adding exercise, lots of sweat, eating those apples and noshing on olives (oh how I loooooooove olives) can take any regime to the next level.

Christmas Creche Cathedral's scene dates back to 1928

The creche at St. John’s Cathedral on Ninth Street in downtown Cleveland was blessed during the Christmas Mass of 1928. The figures, a gift, from Bishop Joseph Schrembs who had ordered the scene from artist and member of the Munich Academy of Art, Sebastian Osterrieder .

According to the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Osterrieder had traveled to the Holy Land to gather precise topographical details before beginning work on the masterpiece. The Universe Bulletin deemed this Christmas creche as an art form and religious masterpiece.

Saint Francis of Assisi is credited with bringing the Christmas creche back in to serve as an altar backdrop celebrated in a cave in 1223.

“… he prepared a manger, and brought hay, and an ox and an ass to the place appointed. The brethren were summoned, the people ran together, the forest resounded with their voices, and that venerable night was made glorious by many and brilliant lights and sonorous psalms of praise.” – Catholic Education.

Several of the original pieces have been replaced and new figures acquired. The scene provides a rich history and is truly part of the celebration.

I took a picture with Christ hanging on the cross to show the massive display.

I wanted my own. One I didn’t have to buy deflecting from the meaning of Advent Season and Christmas spirit. One worthy of being an art form. Only I would not go so far as to call this a religious masterpiece, but a the works of a child, unclear about how to dress and “color” these refugees.

How I set up a creche on Josie Style for the Home.
