Summer Luvin’ No. 6

I never thought I would cross this threshold: wear makeup to the beach. Formerly, for forty-plus years strong, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and lip balm we’re the only components to my midsummer kit and kaboodle. This cosmetics conversation piece, coveted by women of every age and ethnicity, is for the cabana days, pool days, yachting and sailing adventures where the world’s lakes and oceans are the backdrop.

For Summer 2019 Anastasia Beverly Hills released the fourteen color, forty-five dollar RIVIERA Eyeshadow Palette.

The nautical stripes and embossed, gold lettering foreshadow, the shadows inside.

This lux beauty score straight out of swankey Southern California speaks to my soul. The shadows are affectionately named:

Brow Drama

The only day to day drama is the brows. Anytime I open up the package to a new Estee Lauder DARK BRUNETTE Brow Multi-Tasker the moment is similar to Christmas morning at about age eight.

This beauty gadget takes brow art to a new level for women of all ages and all ethnicities — minus the added tools. One end consists of a definer, powder element that springs open in the middle and a spoolie brush on the other end.

“Wow,” exclaimed makeup artist Kyle Ricker when I sat down to let him work his wonder.

When I work with this at home or at work, or in the field I simply flip the instrument around like a baton in my hand until I have the results I need. I tell everyone to practice before they make dinner, or after, and dinner dishes are being put away. This way there is time for error when learning how to use AND… the face is going to be washed anyway before bed. Listen to this — I don’t want to wash the Brow Multi -Tasker off! The va-va-voom feeling is captured with this little creation. Comes in eight shades and sells for under thirty dollars.

By the way… in life (or at least mine) “drama” doesn’t exist. Only the conscious level at which individuals choose to show up in self-awareness.

Naveaux for Chanel

There is a familiar and ultra-glamorous face on the Coastal Ohio Trail who has entered the arena of luxury cosmetics. Her name is Leah Naveaux, a native of Huron who moved later in life to the Toledo bedroom community of Perrysburg. Her vivacious personality, talent and artistry has earned her the title of Resident Make-up Artist for Chanel.

I sat down with the polished pro to trade trade secrets about skincare, makeup, hair and the upcoming VIP Event all women should attend with their husband’s credit card, Scentsational.

The event is set for Saturday, May 4 at Dillard’s Franklin Park location in Northwest Ohio.

All the major brands in beauty will be represented. Leah and other makeup artists will be on hand to perform complete applications. This is the day and age where everyone is on camera, online all of the time. This is the perfect opportunity to learn tips from the pros and possibly walk away with some of the five-thousand dollars in raffle prizes up for taking.

GLAMGLOW’s Galactic Jelly a celestial cleanse with charcoal

I have a new face cleanser in my stash of beauty essentials that leaves my skin as shiny and bright as all of the stars and moons on a dark, fall northcoast night.

Hollywood, California’s GLAMGLOW GALACTIC CLEANSE. 

This hydrating jelly balm cleanser,  brought to us by Estee Lauder Cos., melts away face makeup and deeply cleanses.

The true test for me is whether or not a makeup remover cleanser works is:

“Does take off my eye lash primer and three to four coats of Estee Lauder’s Sumptuous Extreme mascara?”

This cleanser does. Rub, add water, rinse and shine like the stars above.

My other two go-to face cleansers that remove long-wearing makeup and mascara:

Love Breaks All Rules: Part III an eyeshadow secret

“I love you more every day”

Right now I love showing every customer how to use the quintuplet eyeshadow palettes. Pictured is all of the “eye gear” I wore for the promo shoot.

  • Start with ANR Supercharged Complex, a new eye recovery serum that not only works on fine lines, wrinkles and puffiness – but contains a component to combat blue light damage done from the phone, computer and tv
  • I conceal with Doublewear Flawless Concealer around the eye and use as an eyeshadow base
  • Apply a light base color on entire eye lid and use the darker shade to smudge with an eyeliner brush all around the outer edges *Shown is Ivory Power 
  • For added impact add Doublewear Waterproof Stay in Place eyeliner in Espresso — brown liners make blue and green eyes pop
  • Finish with Lash Primer Plus and Sumptuous Extreme Mascara

Love Breaks All Rules sleeping beauty

“I love you so much!”

I wake up to the love notes stuck on the bathroom mirror. But, bedtime is the key to beauty. The number one way to stay fresh faced and of fresh, sharp mind  — sleep. I am set and ready for bed every night right around 10:30 p. I don’t fall asleep right away.. I do though center myself in the middle of my Heavenly Bed, with the door shut, window shades drawn with four inches of down beneath me, another four inches of goose feathers on top making a cloud-like sandwich with crisp, white sheets. I recharge and I repair.Every single night, after a shower or bath, I place a dropper full of the world’s number one night serum: Advanced Night Repair with Chronolux CB, on my face, neck, and across my chest to my shoulders to repair skin cells that didn’t repair due to lack of sleep. I get my Zs too, so I am doubling up on damage control. ANR is also loaded with hyaluronic acid to lock in and boost moisture one thousand times.
